How it all started...
Founded in 2004, Chesapeake Community of Hope is a creative, Spirit-filled ministry affiliated with the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod. We are a Bible-believing church, centered on Jesus Christ and convinced that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today.
Our desire at CCOH is to see people grow in Christ, to flourish, and become the best version of the person God created them to be. As we often say, “We are all on a spiritual journey–just at different places.”

Expanding the vision...
After 10 years as a “porta-church”, in August 2014, CCOH moved into its first facility; three converted bays in a warehouse across from Grassfield High School. We know God has given us a crucial job in this community. We’re excited to see where God will lead us, how He will use us, and how He will grow us to better obey Him and meet the needs of those around us.
Where we are headed...
In recent years, CCOH has grown into a deeper understanding of spiritual gifts and their use in today’s world. Our strongest desire is to help each person know God through Jesus and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to love, connect, grow, and send people to change the world through Jesus.
